Editor’s Note
Quip has introduced the Quip Smart toothbrush as an additional product within their range.
This shares the same form factor as the original, but it is able to connect to a smartphone application using a Bluetooth connection.
It tracks your clean and helps you improve your brushing.
We have reviewed the Quip Smart toothbrush as it is known here.
Our Verdict
The main reason to choose Quip instead of a regular electric toothbrush is for the subscription option, or the travel benefits.
However, as a seasoned electric toothbrush user, the motor feels weak, and the clean no better that a manual brush and certainly not as invigorating as deep cleaning as other electric brushes I have used.
We have outlined some alternatives worth considering in the sections below.
Pros
- Slim and lightweight
- 1 cleaning mode
- Built-in timer
- Removable batteries
- Travel case double up as a wall mount
- Subscription service
- American Dental Association approved
Cons
- Cleaning experience feels weak in comparison other brushes
- No battery status/feedback
- No pressure sensor
