Our choice: SURI 2.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SURI 2.0 electric toothbrush is a refinement of the original SURI 1.0 model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The form factor is almost identical, but the redesign addresses a few of the shortcomings of SURI 1.0. The new additions include a pressure sensor, inductive charging, a more powerful motor, an improved travel case, and a travel lock feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combined, these make SURI 2.0 an excellent all round choice and one that has won a place in my bathroom.<\/p>\n\n\n

When to choose SURI 1.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Price is the key reason to pick the S1 toothbrush over the S2. That being said, over the 3+ years that you'll own the brush, the \u00a310 extra needed to pay for the 2.0 is more than justifiable, in my opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both brushes use the same heads, so there is no cost difference there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1.0 is a very good brush that will serve the vast majority of users well, so if the difference in price appeals to you, there is a saving to be had. When comparing the price, just be mindful of whether or not the travel case is included with the versions you are looking at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d definitely recommend spending the extra on the versions with a travel case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you do opt for SURI v1, make sure you don't brush with too much force as it doesn\u2019t have a pressure sensor.<\/p>\n\n\n

How we scored them<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As you can see in the table below, SURI 2.0 has a higher score in all but one of the categories that we use to review a brush. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one category where the score has decreased is battery performance; SURI 2.0 lasted for 38 days in our testing compared to 42 days for the 1.0. Overall, this is a minor decrease and 38 days battery life still gives you a month's usage from a single charge, which is fantastic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decrease in battery life is to be expected given SURI v2 has a stronger motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support & reputation score has increased for SURI 2.0 because it comes with a 2 year warranty provided that you register the brush with SURI. This wasn't the case with the 1.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
