Oral-B 30 Day Money Back Guarantee

Oral_B_30_Day_Risk_Free_Trial

There are many products you can’t take back to the shops once you have used them and oral healthcare products tend to come under this ruling because of the association with hygiene.

However, with Oral-B’s 30 day money back guarantee you can try an Oral-B toothbrush for 30 days and if you are not happy you can return it for a full refund.

Despite this, you should strive to only return the brush if you really need to. Electric toothbrushes have a significant impact on the environment.

If you return a brush it further increases the product’s environmental impact. If you really don’t get on with the brush then it makes sense to return it, but it is not a decision that should be taken lightly.

Video explainer

This video is a few years old now, but most of the information remains applicable.

Previously the 30 day trial was referred to as the ‘Oral-B Power Test Drive’, but it appears this name is no longer being used.

Terms & conditions

The money back offer from Oral-B is always subject to change and may not apply to all models.

Applicable models will usually have something on the outside packaging (usually on the side of the box) and on the instruction booklet included.

When we last updated this post in November 2022, Oral-B was advertising the guarantee across its own site (circled in the image below), so it would seem the offer applies to most products:

Oral-B money back guarantee UK

On Oral-B’s own page explaining the money back guarantee, there is the following exclusion:

“Kids Star Wars and Frozen variants do not qualify for the money back guarantee programme.”

To be 100% sure, you may wish to check with the retailer you purchase from before buying.

How to get the refund

You simply need to keep all the original packaging and the original receipt to be able to get your money back.

Taken from the instruction manual of an Oral-B Pro 2000 brush:

Try Oral-B Professional Care starting from the day of purchase. If you are not satisfied with this product, please return your handle, refills and charging unit in their original box with your original cash register receipt  to the address below within 30 days of purchase.

Oral-B Products MBG
Dept PX415
PO Box 13263
Galashiels
TD1 9AJ

This does not affect your statutory rights. Terms and conditions apply, for further details, please contact our customer service.

This whole process essentially allows you to try an electric toothbrush for free, with no commitment, if you are not happy return it and Oral-B will arrange a refund for you.

Once the brush is sent back the refund is handled by Oral-B.  Well to be precise, Procter & Gamble (P&G) the parent company of Oral-B actually outsource this to another company.

On receipt of the brush and all the contents, providing it is within 30 days you will be sent a cheque in the post for the amount you paid.

The details on and in the box are not particularly comprehensive or clear on what you must do so let us summarise it in the following bullet points.

The exact steps to take to receive a refund

  • When you purchase your Oral-B toothbrush, keep the original receipt and all original packaging.
  • Use the brush for just under 30 days (this includes weekends).
  • If you wish not to keep it, repackage the brush and send it along with your receipt and a covering letter to: Oral-B Products MBG, Dept PX415, PO Box 13263, Galashiels, TD1 9AJ
  • Your covering letter will need your name and address on it so a cheque can be generated.
  • You must pay the cost of postage for sending the brush back to Oral-B.
  • The brush must be received by Oral-B WITHIN 30 days of purchase.  For example, if you purchase it on the 1st, you will likely want to send it on or around the 25th of the month to allow time for it to be delivered before the 30 days pass.
  • Once received, a cheque will be posted to you for the cost of the electric toothbrush.

FAQ

  • How long can I test the brush for?
    • Up 30 days from date of purchase.  It must be returned to Oral-B on or before the 30th day.
  • What do I need to return?
    • You need to return all the original box contents to qualify, so do not throw any packaging away.  You must include the receipt you got when the brush was purchased too.  A covering note with your name and address is also required.
  • Where do I send it to?
    • If in the UK, you need to send the brush to: Oral-B Products MBG, Dept PX415, PO Box 13263, Galashiels, TD1 9AJ
    • The delivery address for other countries will be different, please consult Oral-B for this.
  • How do I send it?
    • The method you use for delivery will be up to you.  We advise using Royal Mail, preferably a signed and insured for service so that you can prove delivery if required.
    • The shipping cost is your responsibility and these costs will not be returned, only the cost of the electric toothbrush itself.
    • Sending it via a non signed for or insured service will reduce your shipping cost but you will be unable to prove delivery or claim if lost.
  • How is the refund paid and processed?
    • The refund for the toothbrush you are returning is sent to you in the form of a cheque after they have received the brush back.
  • How do I contact them?
    • You can contact Oral-B on 0800 783 7010 in the UK.  However, the returns and refunds are actually handled by ‘Sykes’ who can be contacted on 0845 456 0142 during business hours, or through email using [email protected]sykes.com

What do you think about this scheme? Have you used it?

We certainly like the idea of the scheme.  The 30 day challenge is a bit of a stretch when the brush actually has to be sent back and received within 30 days but at least the option exists, because it is not until you use the brush that you really know for sure.

  1. Did the possibility of a disabled person using Braun tooth brush, might react.
The buttons have to be much easier to use.
Just as with me , suffering with Parkinson’s.
Type 3772 Braun, was not well researched.
I m annoyed at wasting my money.
And would like my money back.

    • Hi Belinda. Sorry to read that you didn’t get on with this model as a result of your medical condition. To proceed with the money back claim, you will need to follow the steps outlined as per Oral-B’s own web page available here.

Unfortunately, the buttons on many brushes are quite firm to prevent accidental activation, I am not aware fo a particularly soft/really easy button. If you are able to try some in stores this could help as you can then assess for yourself.

  2. Hi, just purchased the oral b vitality toothbrush, I bought it as a gift for my husband but very disappointed it doesn’t have an indicator light, I’d have went for another one if it was made more obvious on the box. I have one with the indicator and love it, it’s just very disappointing, I purchased it online in my grocery shop and unfortunately don’t have original receipt, I wouldn’t have minded paying extra for one but no indication light makes a big difference, just wanted to draw attention to it .kind Regards.

  3. I saw an OralB toothbrush for sale in ‘Worten’ in Portugal and asked about the 30 day trial. They told me I could return it before 30 days BUT the box SHOULD NOT been opened. When I asked how to make the trial they told me I couldn’t. The packaging should state which countries this offer is available.

  4. I received a oral b toothbrush as a christmas gift. I am unable to use it as it is too powerful and hurts my teeth to use it. As it was purchased on 21st november I realise it is out of the 30 day satisfaction guarantee but as I did not receive it until christmas day I was unable to return it within the time limit. Is there anything I can do as it it no good for me.

    • Hi Janice. I am not sure there is. You can try contacting Oral-B but as you were not the original purchaser of the unit I am not sure you will have much luck.
Perhaps you could speak to the person who bought it for you?
Or you could try selling it (without the used head).

I am not sure how long you have used the brush for, but it can take a week or so to get used to the increased power of the brush. Might well be worth giving it a bit longer, if you haven’t already.

      • Thanks for the advice but I have already contacted oral b and they were not helpful. They said it was outside the time and there was nothing they would do. I have used the brush once but it was so painful my teeth throbbed for hours after that I will not be using it again. But thankyou for taking time to reply.

  6. I have a braun electric brush I bought done years ago . It has an off and on button . The new 4000 has one button that I’m finding very hard to press off . Are any of the other models easier or have two buttons

    Reply
    • Hi. The resistance on the buttons on the brushes in the Oral-B range are very similar in my experience. Perhaps subtle differences, but none so significant that I could really say with any great conviction that they are much easier to use. Do you find it hard to turn the brush on or just off?

      Reply
        • OK, I would not have typically suggested that turning off was any more difficult than on. Pressing and holding for 2 seconds should turn the brush off.

Of course, ultimately you need to be happy with your decision, so it might be that Oral-B is not right for you.

  7. Good Morning To You All Oral B Team
I was delivered my Oral-B Pro 2 2500 3D White Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush, Pink Handle, on 14 March 2020 . Recommended by my new `SHAMAZING` Dentist Team.
SO EXCITED I WAS. I could not wait to start using it. To kick my manual toothbrush to the kerb LOL
14 days in Charging up was disappointing upsetting as it didn’t last 2 days. Had to keep charging it before I could use it. Noise was a louder vibrating noise like it was running out of juice. LOL poor wee thing.

So my dilemma is what do I do now. As it has become faulty pretty quickly. May I get a NEW ONE.

I know it is only a toothbrush. So I shall wait.

THIS MOMENT SHALL PASS. I BELIEVE 🙏

To everyone Friends Family PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP AND STAY SAFE X TAKE REAL CARE OF YOU ALL X STAY STRONG X
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES AND ALL YOU DO ORAL B TEAM.

    WARMEST REGARDS

    • Hi Moira.

Thanks for the comment, brilliant to see how excited your are about your new toothbrush.

Just to be clear, here at Electric Teeth we are not affiliated with Oral-B. We are an independent organisation who has written about their money back guarantee policy.

Given the battery is not lasting the 2 weeks and you haven’t long had it, it would be my suggestion to try and return it to the store you bought it from and get a replacement. It seems that this brush may just have slipped through the quality control checks, because the battery should last 2 weeks. I am presuming you charged it fully and are brushing twice a day for 2 minutes!

      I hope this helps.

Thank you so for your super quick reply.
And for answering my teeny tiny question.

Yes I agree sometimes things do happen beyond our control.
Like in a quality control check.
Considering the amount of Toothbrushes that pass through Is Immense.

I know there is A FANTASTIC TEAM working at Oral B and also where you are.

Yes I do charge the toothbrush fully
Since I was a wee girl brush my teeth twice a day ALWAYS 😀

        Once again Many Thanks.

  10. We have bought two Oral-B 600 along with pack of crossaction brush heads, while we think the brushes work well we find the charging time something of a joke, on the first charge up it says to charge for 22hrs but we find that even after a short amount of use the charge still takes hours i.e just used for 2 days and now on charge and is still going after 15hrs.
For this reason we will be returning the brushes along with the spare heads under the 30 day money back guarantee.

    Reply
    • Hi Geoff. Sorry to hear you have not been all that impressed with the Pro 600.

When you say it is still charging after 15 hours, what do you mean exactly. If the brush is on the charging stand, it will to a point always be charging. Like if you leave a mobile phone plugged in, it will continue to charge as much as it can the whole time it is connected.

If you take the brush off the charging stand and use it, can you get about a weeks life from it?

If not, something is likely wrong.

Once left on charge overnight, if it does not then last a week, there could be a fault.

  11. Exactly my thoughts john, No a large portion do not have it, only new builds do and there are a lot more old homes, do you know why they have a socket n a bathroom? because before in the old age everything was wired and wires for shavers, trimmers etc wasnt long enough so they put them there, as the world has developed from wired to cordless you can charge it and use it anywhere so having a 2 pin where we cant use anywhere makes it worse than having a wired one. Move with the times a better solution would be to change the plug to uk specs or provide 2 options to choose from clearly marked on the box.

  12. What do I think? I think it is ridiculous to buy an electric product in the UK to find when you have got it out of the packaging, that it has a two pin plug on it. Sockets in the UK have three pin square plugs. I am already not satisfied.
