A well designed toothbrush that cleans the teeth well, there is a lot to like about this brush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better choices for less money<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I would encourage you to consider the Sonicare 4100 Series over and above the 4500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although differences exist, the differences are not that significant all things considered. The main benefit of the 4500 is the travel case and extra cleaning power from the brush motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does depend on prices at the time of order. The 4500 is probably worth a $15 premium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design, usability, clean & general use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have seen or used any of the other ProtectiveClean electric toothbrushes, the 4500 is essentially the same. There are just minor differences in the overall functionality and box contents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the features and technology on the 4500 are not new, but the ProtectiveClean family brings these together in a slightly different package. This is a good thing, as tried and tested features work, which means the 4500 has solid foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n

It most certainly looks and feels the part and perhaps better quality than you might have expected for the price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those that have not used a Sonicare toothbrush before, may not understand me when I say it has a very \u2018Sonicare\u2019 feel to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is just something about a Sonicare product.  I am not sure if it is the materials, the look and feel or more likely a combination of all of these that give a sense of satisfaction and reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mentioned it in my review of the ProtectiveClean 4100, but I feel it is worth mentioning in this review too; Sonicare does a pretty decent job on their packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s be honest an electric toothbrush is not the best for the environment, so it's great to see that cardboard box and inner tray are recyclable, unlike the polystyrene packaging that comes with Oral-B products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am not sure the little plastic bags the brush handle and charger come in are really necessary, but I guess Sonicare have their reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the box and in the hand, the ProtectiveClean 4500 feels great. Solid and well balanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of review, it comes in 2 different colour options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
