How can I get my Waterpik water flosser serviced in Canada?

Most Waterpik products typically come with a 2 year warranty.  However, some do come with longer or shorter warranty periods such as 1 or 3 years.

It is recommended that for your benefit you register your flosser online by heading to https://www.waterpik.ca/en/oral-health/product-support/product-registration/ for Canadian residents.

For in warranty service

If your Waterpik oral health product develops a fault within the warranty period it will be repaired or replaced free of charge under the terms of your warranty.

You can contact the company by calling 1-888-266-3042 or emailing [email protected].

Alternatively, you can submit a request via their website. Click here, select ‘warranty assistance’ from the reason for contact drop down list and then complete the required fields.

Once submitted you will need to wait to hear back from Waterpik on how to proceed.

All products sent in for repair must be well packaged and sent in a box suitable to withstand normal freight and courier handling. It is recommended that your package is appropriately insured and shipped using a carrier who can provide tracking. Waterpik should cover all repair costs and return shipping to you.

For out of warranty service

Unfortunately, as far as we are aware, Waterpik offers no out of warranty service option.

Once the warranty period has elapsed, there is no official route to get your flosser repaired.

It will be up to you to repair it yourself or find someone who can assist you.

Subject to the fault or issue you have, it might well be that some of the available replacement parts can fulfil your requirements.

If attempting any repair, please do so with safety in mind.

Or as a last resort, the product will need to be appropriately disposed of and a new flosser purchased.

How long will the process take?

More often than not, if the unit is determined to be faulty, Waterpik will dispatch a new unit to you.  This will take several working days to arrive.

From confirming the issue of replacement expect an average wait time of 2-5 days for it to be delivered.

The service team aims to minimize the disruption and inconvenience and will do what they can to ensure a working unit is with you in a fair amount of time.

The exact period of time you will be without your flosser will vary depending on the circumstances, including the time of year and the product in question.

How long is the Waterpik warranty?

Whilst many Waterpik flossers come with a 2 year warranty as standard, some come with longer or shorter guarantee periods.

It really does vary from one Waterpik product to another.

You need to consult your user manual or the instruction manuals page of the Waterpik website for accurate information.

For the sake of example, if your flosser has a 3 year warranty and you purchase it on the 1st February 2022, the warranty will be valid until 31st January 2025.

My water flosser is not listed on the warranty registration page

Whilst the range of water flossers do not change all that frequently, there can be a delay in the newest models being added to Waterpiks online warranty registration page.

We wish this was not the case, but should this apply, please allow a few weeks to pass and then attempt the process again to see if the registration pages have been updated.

If you cannot afford to wait or need assistance the best course of action is to speak to Waterpik’s customer service team by calling 1-888-226-3042.

What is covered in the Waterpik warranty?

The exact coverage can vary from one product to another based on the features and functions they offer.

But, examples of what the warranty will typically covers are:

  • The built-in battery no longer holding charge.
  • The battery life of the rechargeable battery lasting less than the advertised time.
  • The water flosser no longer switching on or off.
  • The water flosser intermittently working.
  • The adjustable pressures no longer changing.
  • The pump not pushing the water out through the tip.
  • The unit leaking.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage such as scratches, or damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Improper use
  • Altered products
  • Damaged products
  • Accessories and consumable parts such as tips.
  • Products used with the incorrect voltage
  • Accident, misuse, dirt or water
  • Repairs carried out by agents not authorised by Waterpik
  • The product being altered or used for commercial purposes

Is the warranty and repair process free?

If the fault with your water flosser falls under the terms of the warranty and is within its warranty period, Waterpik will, for free of charge, repair any defects or replace the water flosser.  More often than not they will send a replacement.

If required, the cost of shipping the water flosser to the service centre is your responsibility.  Waterpik will not normally cover this cost.  They will cover the cost of return shipping.

Where do I need to send it?

The location you need to send the flosser (if applicable) depends on your location and the best service centre for you.  You may not need to send it for repair at all.  It might just be replaced.

Waterpik will advise of any shipping addresses if required.

How long will I be without a water flosser?

As a general rule, the service centre aims to repair or replace the water flosser as quickly as possible.  This is usually a period of 2-5 working days.

The exact period of time you will be without your flosser will vary depending on the circumstances, time of year and shipping methods used.

Please take into consideration the postage time to and from the service centre.

Will they not just replace the water flosser?

Yes, it is quite likely that they will just replace the water flosser rather than offer a repair.

It depends on a number of different variables that Waterpik control, but most customers find they are sent a brand new unit rather than having to send it for repair.  Just be aware, there is no guarantee that it will be replaced, a repair might be the required option.

Do I need my receipt?

Ideally, yes.  Retaining your receipt will be advantageous when it comes to handling any warranty related service matter.

They can usually calculate the age of the unit based on the serial numbers etc, but having a copy of your receipt or proof of purchase allows you to confirm with them the exact date from which the warranty commenced.

If you do not have the receipt or have no way of accessing it, Waterpik can usually still support you.  Just be aware there might be some limitations because you can’t prove to them when you gained ownership.

My water flosser is outside of the warranty period can I get it repaired?

No, not really.

Waterpik offers no out of warranty service.

They do sell some replacement parts, but these might not solve your specific problem.

It might be possible to find a competent person locally to assist with simple repairs, but this may well be tricky and potentially cost prohibitive.

I am not in Canada, where and how do I get my flosser repaired?

If you are not a Canadian resident but have a Waterpik water flosser your unit will be subject to similar warranty conditions, but the service agent, the returns address and contact numbers will be different.
