Philips Sonicare 90 day money back guarantee

Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4300

In an effort to give you more peace of mind when buying a Sonicare electric toothbrush, Philips runs a money back guarantee programme.

This programme allows you to buy, try and return a Sonicare toothbrush, for any reason, if you are not satisfied.

You can use the brush for up to 90 days and if you are not happy it can be returned for a refund.

Despite this, you should strive to only return the brush if you really need to. Electric toothbrushes have a significant impact on the environment.

If you return a brush it further increases the product's environmental impact. If you really don't get on with the brush then it makes sense to return it, but it is not a decision that should be taken lightly.

The 90 day money back guarantee, or MBG as it is otherwise known, is promoted on Sonicare's website as well as online amongst other retailers.

However the information explaining the conditions is often quite limited. In this post I explain all you need to know.

Important points from the money back guarantee

The full claims process and associated conditions are explained below, but I feel it necessary to highlight a few very important pieces of information.

  • Select products are eligible
    • The following products are eligible for the money back programme:
      • DiamondClean Smart, DiamondClean 9000, DiamondClean, ExpertClean, HealthyWhite+, ProtectiveClean, 2 Series, Elite+, Sonicare For Kids, AirFloss Ultra, AirFloss
  • You actually get more than 90 days to test the product
    • You have up to 90 days from the date of purchase to acquire a Returns Authorisation Number. You then have a further 30 days to return the eligible product.
  • The 90 days runs from date of purchase
    • You must make the claim for returns within 90 days of the date of purchase. If you purchased it on the 1st January but didn't actually receive it until the 5th, the 90 days starts from the 1st, not the 5th.
  • You must wait at least 30 days before claiming the the guarantee
  • You must acquire a Returns Authorisation Number
  • You must complete the money back form
  • You must induce the original receipt
    • Photocopies are not acceptable. Although for products ordered online a print out of your electronic receipt should suffice.

  • You must pay for the return postage
  • You will receive the money back via a payment into your bank account.

All details are subject to change so please refer to Sonicares money back guarantee page for the latest information.

If you do decide to claim, please let us (in addition to Sonicare) know why, so we can learn the likes and dislikes of people like yourself and to educate us, so that better recommendations can be made.
